BloombergNEF, which provides energy research and information, predicts that the cost of EV high voltage batteries will continue to come down in the near future. They predict that by 2025 the cost of the battery will only be about 20% of the cost of the entire vehicle. They also believe that even sooner, by 2022, EVs will become the cheaper option for car buyers. As a percentage of the cost of the vehicle, the price of high voltage batteries is dropping – in 2015 the battery cost amounted to 57% of the entire vehicle price, while this year it is down to 33% of the vehicle cost.
